Clublog upload failed.

When I click on "Upload all changes" for ClubLog, it says "ClubLog: Upload failed! Check Internet connection." My clublog callsign, password, and email are all correct, and I do have an internet connection. How do I fix this problem?

What version are you running? I discovered in the version I have (2.6.0 (107) Gtk), if I make any changes to the Preferences (like adding a new radio, for instance) the Online Log Upload preferences automatically change back to "https://secure.clublog.org/realtime.php" instead of "https://clublog.org/realtime.php" that I had before. Saku changed the Preferences for log uploads to allow editing the URLs, but only recently have I had this issue. This bad URL causes the problem you are seeing.

If you are running a 2.6.0 version with editable Clublog upload URLs in the preferences tab, you can probably just change the URL to remove the word "secure" from the URL.

I'm running 2.5.1. I don't see where to change the clublog url. How do I do this?

I think you have to be running a later version to have access to change the URL in preferences. Saku can probably help with that. I am not at home right now, so don't have my computer with all the specifics and am sending this from my phone. You'll need to git clone the 2.6.0 release and compile and install it. Then you'll be able to edit the URLs.

Okay, thanks. I got 2.6.0 installed. Hope I did it right, first time I'd ever done anything quite like that. It says "2.6.0" now at least :-) Where do I got from here?

Go to Preferences and select

Go to Preferences and select the tab for online log upload. You should now have placed to enter the correct URL!

For some reason I don't see that anywhere. Here's a screenshot of my online log upload preferences.

Well doggone it!

Well doggone it!

I'm not sure which build of 2.6.0 had the update. I think it might be a test build that Saku put together. I hope he checks this thread and responds with the details. I'm away from home until Saturday night, so probably won't be able to help much more until then.

Hi!
Try 2.6.0.(115).
I assume you can compile if you got 2.6.0 installed. You find source from
https://github.com/OH1KH/cqrlog/tree/loc_testing
Compile from source is always the preferred way.

If you need ready compiled version dive to
https://github.com/OH1KH/cqrlog/tree/loc_testing/compiled
where you find newupdate.zip holding newupdate.sh that does the updating and backups for you.

For both cases, please read the NOTE from compiled/README.md (first 8 lines) .

I can't get this source

When I go to your link and click the green button to download the tree via git, it gets the main source. I don't get the "compiled" directory. I compile the source and don't get the option to edit the URL in "Preferences > Online log upload" Would it be possible to get the correct tree for "loc_testing"? Thanks in advance. -Joe de AI5DD

I can't get this source

Hi!
If you use "git clone" then, after cloning change to cloned directory. If you did it in your home directory root it will be
"~/cqrlog"
When in that directory give git checkout loc_testing that will take you to "loc_testing" branch that holds the alpha testing source.

Other way is to navigate "compiled" directory in git web and go back to one folder using ".." (two dots) that is over "README.md" item.
When you are there you can download source using green "CODE" button. When new version comes you have to download ZIP again, while using git cone you just need to change ~/cqrlog and give "git pull" to get just changed part of code added.

cqrlog no url option after 2.6.0 update

I used choice 1 in the newversion.sh same as what I had before still no option to change url for cqrlog. Then realize options 4,5 and 6 are the .115 versions mentioned needed. So I tried option 4 and get:
jon@jon-Precision-T3600:/tmp$ cqrlog
cqrlog: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.34' not found (required by cqrlog)
jon@jon-Precision-T3600:/tmp$

when I try to run it now......

How to fix the missing glibc

upgrading glibc required mint 20.3 to update to 21

Wow. That was several hours I wish I had back. On top of that my initial reaction to Mint 21 is wish I had stayed at 20.3. Panel at bottom is solid white with black icons (ugly) All this to fix clublog upload.

Just upload club log manually instead of using the auto upload. Not worth the hassle. I do have a back up and may revert back in a few days.

upgrading glibc required mint 20.3 to update to 21

HI Jon!
You can live with your older Mint, just compiile the source with your Linux. Then you do not need to upgrade Glibc.
It is important just when using ready compiled version to have same version of Glibc that is been used with Linux where the ready compiled binary file is created.

Look at the first link of message
https://www.cqrlog.com/comment/11229#comment-11229
That is the source code. Press green "code" button and you find "Download.zip". then you have just this versions source, not whole git branch tree.

You can find help from this old message how to install laarus-ide (that install also fpc and needed libraries) and then compile the downloaded zip's content.
Mint 20 Cinnamon and new cqrlog https://www.cqrlog.com/node/2998

You can pass by the command "git clone" if you have downloaded zip and extracted to your home directory.
You can also pass by all about QT5 if you do not need that.

Over my head

Saku,

I appreciate your work on CQRLog to try and keep it up to date. Today I spent several more hours working on my system to try and get it back to 20.3 and a good working cqrlog along with wsjtx and gridtracker setup. The only thing I could not do was upload to clublog from cqrlog. If I use ft8 gridtracker works amazingly well and uploads to all logs instantly. I guess I was trying to get cqrlog to at least do what it used to do with the online log feature.

After the time shift. Mint is back and everything works except CQRLog.
I am unable to get cqrlog to run now. I get the sql database error which I have overcome before by installing mariadb. That is not working this time.

I can go to usr/bin and open my backup cqrlog version 2.4.0 and that opens fine and runs. I cant rename the current cqrlog to something else it is version 2.6.0 nor rename the back up as cqrlog. The rename option is grayed out and cannot be selected.

I created a launcher Icon and pointed it to the backup CQRLog version 2.4.0 it works but loads very slowly compared to what it did before I started this "upgrade" process.

Any Ideas how I can clean this up?

Hi Jon!
Sorry to hear that !
Reason that you can not alter /usr/bin contents is that you are trying to do it as ordinary user. You need to start your file browser with sudo I.E. as root privileges. My opinion is that comman terminal is the easiest way, but you may feel different.
With command terminal:
sudo mv /usr/bin/cqrlog /usr/bin/cqrlog_save
sudo mv /usr/bin/cqrlog_old /usr/bin/cqrlog
First one asks your user password and then moves file named cqrlog to name cqrlog_save, second one does not as password any more. It remembers it a while. it moves file named cqrlog_old to name cqrlog.

But before doing that I would like to see what debug start says. Open command terminal and type:
cqrlog --debug=1 > /tmp/debug.txt
Once cqrlog stops to error find file /tmp/debug.txt and attach it to your next message (use buttons "choose file" and "upload" below.)
Or send it to my email as attachment. You will find my email address from callbooks Hamqth and Qrz.

If you managed to upgrade and run 2.6.0(115) it might have upgraded your log database and then old versions of cqrlog may fail (readme.md notes) if you do not restore also the hidden folder ~/.config/cqrlog that holds log and settings.
newupdate.sh does also that backup if you used it.
That one you can rename as ordinary user as it is inside your home folder. But because it is hidden folder (name starts with dot) your file manager does not show it unless you change it's settings: "show hidden files and folders"
