Installing CQRlog

HI
I am definitely confused with installation after ubuntu 24 upgrade.
I have replaced mysquel with MariadB. Seems ok, but I am not sure how to test it.
I have installed CQRlog 2.5.2 and it runs. But it tells me: Error during connection to database: TMySQL57Connection : Server connect failed.
I have read messages about that, but I am still confused.
Can you assist?
Thank you

CQRLOG G90 Part4

Hi Saku

OK I think we are making progress.
I have two radios configured
Radio One is a TS 570 and Radio Two is a G90

Everything I have done has been with Radio Two selected but in the dump parameters from Radio One are being used.

Below is what I have done - the important bit is near the end.

checked CQRLog it is set to /dev/bin/rigctld OK

Re-boot for a clean start

I open a command window and enter
rigctld -m 3088 -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -t 4532 -s 19200 -vvvvv

a lot of messages scroll past then I get

Hi Saku

Thanks for the reply.

What you suggested isn't working but it might show us what/where the problem is.

I cannot connect using telnet. I get connection refused.

See below

Even sudo telnet 127.0.0.1 4532 gives "Connection refused"

djcleckie@raspberrypi:~ $ telnet 127.0.0.1 4532
Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

CQRLOG G90 Part3

Hi Saku

Sorry for the delay in replying but its IOTA contest weekend but its ruined here due to poor WX. HI

I have tried what you suggested.

Reboot for fresh start.
Started rigctl from the command line - rigctl -m 3088 -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 19200
I get Rig command
enter f
its responding ok to f giving the same frequency as on the G90's display.

I now start up CQRLog with rigctl still running.

CQRLOG G90 Continued

Hi Saku

Thanks for the advice.

I have been trying to upload this as a reply to your reply but its not appearing so I have just started a new thread.

1st

There seems to be an issue with the v command.
f and F both work as they should
f returns the QRG ok
F lets me set the QRG OK
fm returns the QRG followed by the mode that's OK
M lets me set the MODE OK (the passband doesn't seem to work,

V lets me change the VFO OK
V VFOB f lets me change the VFO to B then returns the new QRG OK.

CQRLOG G90

Hi
I have CQRLog working with a G90 using FLRig as the rig
But I cannot get it to work if I select 3088 Xiegu G90 as the rig.

Here is where I have got to -- see below

I have CQRLog working perfectly with a TS570, a TS590 and a Yaesu FT 817 and a G90 using FLRig

Running CQRLog 2.5.1 On a RPi under 64bit Bullseye sudo aptget update and upgrade all done.
(CQRLog 2.5.1 is now fairly old but as far as I can see nothing to do with Rig Control has been changed in the newer versions)

I have compile Hamlog 4.7 from Git source

Tested Hamlog

Menu icons delete after restart

I'm currently running Linux Mint 22.1. I have been using CQRLOG for several years and have never had this issue. I attempted to edit my menu by moving the launcher icon to a different group in my menu. Something went wrong and I lost the icon. I decided that I would re-install CQRLOG 2.5.2 from the package manager along was Mariadb. The Icons were back and I pined a shortcut to my taskbar and the program worked normally. After restarting my system, both the icon in the Menu and Pinned shortcut on the taskbar deleted. I re-installed again just to have the same thing happen. I'm at a loss.

Unable to install on clean Debian

Hello everyone,

untill now, I have always used CQRLOG on my RaspberryPI with ARM64 (installed from tarball) without any issue.
Good job, indeed.
A few days ago I tried to install it on a new machine with Debian, but without success.

1) Linux 6.1.0-37-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.140-1 (2025-05-22) x86_64 GNU/Linux up to date
2) mariadb apparently up and running :

sudo mariadb
