Telnet DX-Cluster freeze

Hi,

I hope you had a merry christmas.

Some time ago I reported that after upgrading from Kubuntu 19.10 to 20.04 the telnet DX cluster freezes after a few minutes. Even after upgrading to Kubuntu 20.10 the behavior has not changed.

The simultaneously running RBN monitor does not show this behavior and continues to work even after the Telnet DX cluster freezes.
Both windows use the same telnet server "telnet.reversebeacon.net".

In the meantime, any idea what this could be? Maybe also a problem with the database.

Installation on Mint20

Hello to all and Merry Xmas.

I tried to install today on Mint20 Cinnamon.
I got error with mySQL, ver 8 and I looked for issues here in the forum.
I read about replacing mySQL with MariaDB, followed that and managed to run CQRLOG.
Made some test entries to get familiar with it.
Next task to import my data from ADIF.
CQRLOG was download from Software Manager GUI.

I thought of letting people know.
That is all for the moment

LOTW QSL Send date

Hi,
If I choose in QSO LIST window ->QSL->LOTW->Mark all QSO as uploaded to LoTW its changing LOTW QS_S for current date even for qsos which are already marked as sent to LOTW. IMHO it is not correct to change already exist LOTW QS_S and should work only for qsos which are not marked yet.
Otherwise, it leads to a situation where the LOTW confirmation receive date is earlier than the sent date, which is impossible with LOTW.
Did not check how it works with eQSL.

Mint 20 and CQRLOG windows

Since I upgraded to Mint 20 Cinnamon and compiled the latest version of CQRLOG the way the windows act is different. The windows I use are New QSO, DX Cluster, RBN Monitor, TRX Control, and DK0WKY Propagation. In previous versions of Mint when I clicked on the CQRLOG icon in the task bar (when the program was running but minimized) all of the windows would come up. But now when I do that only the NEW QSO window comes up. If I hover over the icon in the task bar I see the other windows but i have to click them one at a time to get them all back full screen. It's a pain in the rear.

TIP: How to stop CQRlog from switching rig-control when USB-tty chips are the same.

Hi there,

I have been fighting 2 tranceivers, the Icom IC-7300 and the Yeasu FT991A, they use the same USB-UART and as such they switch /dev/ttyUSBx all the time.

So create a file like this; nano /etc/udev/rules.d/40-ttyusb.rules

SUBSYSTEM=="tty", ATTRS{idVendor}=="10c4", ATTRS{idProduct}=="ea60", ATTRS{serial}=="IC-7300 03011067", SYMLINK+="icom"
SUBSYSTEM=="tty", ATTRS{idVendor}=="10c4", ATTRS{idProduct}=="ea70", ATTRS{serial}=="00E3DAB0", SYMLINK+="yeasu"

Insert something like above and you find the exact parameters with this command:

Error when trying to open stations website on HamQTH or qrz.com

Hi all,

when I try to open the HamQTH or qrz.com website of a station, cqrlog opens this error message:

Executable not found: "chromium-browser".
Press OK to ignore and risk data corruption.
Press Abort to kill the program.

Nowhere in the preferences is a setting, which says "chromium-browser". On the "External viewers" tab, it makes no difference, if the "HTML files" entry is set to firefox, google-chrome or any other installed browser, even with full path, e.g. /usr/bin/google-chrome.

Any ideas what's wrong?
