During nice summer days it would be fun to spent days in garden, not by waiting a certain spot from DX cluster.
One solution could be remote alerting.
It can be done with your smartphone and application "Telegram" messenger. For those who have never heard about that before, like I myself was a while ago, it is a "WhatsApp" like messenger.
I have not used cqrlog in a while but got interested in trying out the new version. I tried starting up what i had but got an error from the sql server. I uninstalled what I had, followed the instructions to modify my apt sources and update to the newer version. Same problem with the database. So, in the error dialog is said that if I couldn't find an answer in the faq, I should post in this forum with the last 20 lines of the sql server log.
I am doing so:

I recently (re)installed CQRLOG v. 2.5.2(001) after finding that the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS repository automatically changed the DB to MySQL from Mariadb. That was a pain to figure out, but I did with the help of a few posts here.
Yesterday I installed cqrlog from package to Fedora 33 laptop that did not have sql or cqrlog installed before.
Noticed that install from package fails (what a surprise ;-( ). Package installs hamlib, mariadb server and cqrlog ok, but cqrlog fails to start. And the reason is "as usual" sql server access.
I searched the forum and can't find a mention of this. I have the data that belong in those fields, but find no way to edit them.

I've read the posts I could find about this but each seems focused on exotic cases involving exchange fields.
Importing a batch of ADIF records that look like the following, the STX and RTX fields are simply not imported, period. The STX, RTX, and Remarks fields after the import are blank.

SECOND NOTE: Well, nevermind. I guess it's impossible to paste an example of an ADIF record here.
Go to file / preferences / bands/ (click) frequencies and edit the upper/lower limit. Found this fix in another post.
Strange behavior after update. Since updating from 2.4 (something) CQRLOG wont accept 146.520 as a freq. When trying to save a FM simplex contact. I get a popup box that states "You must enter correct frequency (in MHz)" and wont accept anything above 146.001. It will accept 146.000 and below. Anyone have an idea why. I perused the config files looking for a freq. limit for each band but was unsuccessful in finding anything that looked appropriate.

I noticed that after regular updates of ubuntu and all apps I still have the old version of cqrlog:
ARRL FD is coming soon. I note in the contest log there is an entry for it, even though they claim it's not a contest. This will be my first using CQRlog.
My part of the exchange will always be the same, "1B AL" (single op, Alabama this year). Is there a way to fix this in the field? I assume that since no sequence number is required I can just double tab to the correct field for the other station's information?
CQRlog just keeps getting better!

I'm trying to download a list of contacts who haven't received confirmation via lotw or eqsl.
In fact, I wish I could play with this list to see if there is any way to get to send a qsl direct or via manager. I don’t work with any amateur radio association, at the moment.
I can't find any filter that works for me.
Has anyone been able to make a filter to extract this listing?

Well it appears I have the program running but can't do any entries.
If I type a freq it rejects as bad freq on save.
If I inport an adif all reject as bad freq.
If I use rig control it rejects on save as bad freq.
Any ideas what I need to change?
No matter what I enter it says enter a valid freq in MHZ
I do nets on 3.892 and 3.895 and 3.8975 on 80m and all
reject.
Thanks for any help to point me in the right direction.

I am not a WWFF operator, but did visit three OHFFs during a boat trip and because I have my IC706 installed in my boat I decided to try WWFF activation.
Here are few hints how to use cqrlog for logging activation.
New versions of rigctld (Hamlib) have external parameter "--vfo". That seems to be requirement for wsjtx versions 2.4.0 and up.
It makes things complicated as using parameter "--vfo" at rigctld startup breaks it's backward compatibility that leads defunct of cqrlog (also my qsstv and fldigi do not like it).
So if you start rigctld from script before other programs (cqrlog,fldigi,qsstc, wsjtx) do not add parameter "--vfo". Unfortunately it may lead to older version of wsjtx needed.
Hello, I have a Kenwood TS590s with a Digikeyer2, a Yaesu FT736R with the DXP sound modem.
If I start WSJT-X via CQRLOG for example, my TS590, then I have the WSTJ-X CQ monitor window.
If I switch to the FT736R in WSJT-X via Configurations, WSJT-X is automatically terminated and restarted.
The CQ monitor window is missing and is not listed under the window entry in CQRLOG. I have to quit and start WSJT-X again and CQ-Monitor is there.
Then the entry is there again under Window.
Is there a solution, that I don't have to quit and start WSJT-X again?
Hi, I have been using CQRLOG for years and have never had too many problems with the software.
If we discount that the rigctl sometimes gets fried, of course.
But I updated Ubuntu a few days ago, and now everything is in trouble.
I tried to reinstall from scratch the version that carries UBUNTU but everything works erroneously, very slow. And all too often it gives me bbdd failure warnings.
One of the things he does now, is that he is very slow to react, even when writing the callsigns. It just happens to me with the cqrlog.
Is it possible to view the profile infos in the QSO List Window? I would appreciate if this was available as checkbox in the "visible columns" settings.

After using CQRLog for a year and a half I must say I'm very happy, thanks to everyone involved!
I use different profiles for my different rigs / QTHs. The profiles all have a unique number as identifier, and in the "view QSO" window the drop down list shows this number and also the description. This works, except for profile number zero: If I want to view an old QSO, the value remains empty.
Something not good.
IC7300 connected to PC via USB
Fldigi alone OK
Fldigi closed without problem
CQRlog OK (communicate with the rig)
remote wsjt x all OK
remote fldigi OK
BUT on closing Fldigi, TX begins transmitting until closing CQRlog...
I don't know why. Any idea ?

Is it possible to change the theme or at least some colors in CQR? For example, in the DXCluster the colors are green. I like green as much as the next guy but was hoping maybe I could change it.....
I know it sounds trivial but I like having the ability to make my software look the way I like it to look.
Either way, I LOVE CQRLOG and use it with my FT1000MP.

So, I have been having an issue with uploading to clublog. Basically the clublog status got stuck on trying to delete a QSO from clublog that wasn't there, so it kept on stalling. Basically I tried to clear that by marking all QSO's as uploaded, then creating an ADIF and uploading that manually to clublog. So far so good, except now, clublog has just gone through all my QSO's in the log and now deleted them from clublog. All of them. Every single last f....g one of them.
So, what gives kind sirs? Anything I can do here?

I keep getting these errors and have created the debug.log to send to you when you're ready.

I RECEIVED THE ICOM 7610 TODAY AND HAVE FOUND SETTINGS THAT WORK WITH THE 7610 AND CQRLOG. YES MY HAMLIB ETC IS UP TO DATE WITH THE IC-7610 AS RIG NUMBER 378 IN THE PULL DOWN MENU.
MY CQRLOG SETTINGS WERE:
RIG 378 Icom IC-7610
DEVICE /dev/ttyUSB0
POLL 2000
PORT 4532
EXTRA COMMANDS -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -m 378
SERIAL SPEED 19200
ALL OTHERS DEFAULT
THE ICOM 7610 SETTINGS ARE IN TWO SCREEN CAPTURE PHOTOS AND I CAN NOT PASTE THEM ON THIS PAGE. I CAN EMAIL THEM IF CONTACTED AT K5KV@ARRL.NET.
