I'm trying to do a new install on Lubuntu 18.04. I can't seem to get MySQL going. The mysql.err file tells me "no such file or directory". I tried installing MySQL Workbench just to be sure I had everything MySQL wanted, but still no luck getting CQRlog to open. Any help appreciated. Jim, KF4RX

I am attempting to install 2.3.0-1_i386.deb on my Debian system. I was able to install the dependencies except for:
mysql-server
libmysqlclient-dev
It appears these packages have been changed to:
default-mysql-server
default-libmysqlclient-dev
This is the Debian Testing branch. Is it OK to force the install? Does the debian install package need to be updated?
I have a problem running CQRLOG on my new Ubuntu LINUX 18.40 with screens with 3840 x 2160 resolution.
- Even reducing the font sizes to e.g. Sans 7 does not make all windows / dialog boxes readable. (And Sans 7 is really small and becomes difficult to read)
- Some of the status bars fonts sizes do not change e.g. sheet names , selectors, buttons, labes on such buttons are much larger than the button itself and overlap with the neighboring button
Has this been addressed already, are there solutions for such high resolution screens ?
Hi,
I did an upgrade from ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04.
In order to run several programs I had to install a new sql client.
But CQRlog now shows the message during start
"Error during connection to database: TMySQL56Connection can not work with the installed MySQL client version: Expected (5.6), got (5.7.23)."
and does not start properly. Anyone any idea what I can do to fix this: keep the new sql client working with cqrlog.
Thanks for any help.

installed the recent ppa version ubuntu on a new system. Old configs and logs were rsynced to the new machine. Database is not configured to be in mysql.
Starting wsjtx in remote mode works, but after the first qso is logged, a window 'Access violation' appears on top of cqrlog and nothing more happens. No logging at all.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,
I'm not able to install any cqrlog. When I started the downloaded RMP paket then I do get this message:
"Error during connection to database: Can not load default MySQL library ("libmysqlclient.so.16" or "libmysqlclient.so"). Check your installation."
Both files are not to be found with zypper even not "libmysqlc" or "libmysqlclient-devel".
On (X)buntu it works well but here with openSuse 15 Leap nothing…

Hi,
i'm using CQRLOG 2.3.0 (Dev 103) with active satellite mode.
Today i want to log a qso via Amsat AO-92 and i found AO-92 not in the list.
I add a column with "AO-92|AMSAT OSCAR 92 (FOX-1D)" in .config/cqrlog/sat_name.tab and after a restart i could log my qso.
And after a trustedQSL (it seems that TQSL proofs the qsl data, too) update it upload the QSO successfully to LoTW.
Hi!
Played a little bit with NanoPi-Neo I just got from ebay.
NanoPi is a raspberryPi like small computer http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPi_NEO#Introduction
After loading image from wiki.friendlyarm.com (Ubuntu variant) and made apt-get update and apt-get upgrade it was time to try cqrlog (raspberry version).
Screen layout problem.
I'm trying to figure out how to operate wsjt-x in remote mode when it's running on a Windows 10 machine and the cqrlog is of course on my fedora 28 box. (I'm doing this so I can use HDSDR as a panadapter with Omnirig, which wsjt-x also supports on Windows). I configure the ip and port for each machine in the appropriate spaces in both programs, and can see the frames from the wsjt-x box in wireshark on the linux box. But, I can't connect to wsjt-x from cqrlog, and don't see any traffic originating from cqrlog.
Hello,
I am running a Thinkpad lenovo T60 with xubuntu 18.04. after installing cqrlog I can start it but get no success with the database.

New feature request - exclude a freqency segment (from-to) to be displayed on the band map. I find very boring to see empty band and a bunch of stations on 10 136 when I am on CW. The same applies to any FT8 frequency. Simply we need a more effective way to separate DIGI spots from CW.

Trying to troubleshoot a problem with LoTW download (got "Error 2; missing ssl libraries" and no SSL Libraries listed in --debug=1 output; still investigating) and I think I discovered a problem.
The LoTW password is sent in plaintext in an HTTPS call to the LoTW website. Since the HTTPS delimiter between fields is an ampersand ('&'), if your password contains this character, as mine did, this is going to cause a problem in parsing this HTTPS statement.
Not sure what the solution could be. I'm going to just change my password. Luckily, other people are smarter than me.
TX5T is a reissued call. Now on Raivavae Isl., Austral Isl. (FO/A), in 2006 Mayotte (FH). I am unable to enter TX5T with proper zones, beam headings, distance, sunrise/sunset etc. because CQRlog persistently uses the data from my previous QSO with TX5T on FH. Only the DXCC country info is displayed correctly with correct indicator DXCC Ref. - DXCC Ref. FO(A). I played around preferences but there is no way to get correct data. On the other side I find very useful and comfortable the feature 'copying data from previous QSO'. which should be kept untouched.
The configuration backup in File -> Oper or create new log -> Utils -> Configuration -> Import does not work. The Export works, it really produces an .ini file but when attempting to load a previously saved configuration it does nothing. No way other than painfully re-enter all settings and prefereces manually.

Running V 2.3.0 (001) under Raspian V9.
Mysq ver 15.1 Distrib 10.123-MariaDB
File
Prefences
QTH Profiles
Use QTH Profiles
Define-Modify
Edit in New Window
Now if I enter for Locator IO76KT
Then Save
I get the following error.
TMYSQL56CONNECTION error executing Querie
Error in SQL Syntax.
Now as SQL Syntax is a well defined standard it should work with any SQL Database. Mysql or MariaDB should have the same SQL Syntax.
In the previous QSO list appearing at the top of the logging screen is no MODE field.
I have checked the box in Preferences/Visible columns, but the screen shows no MODE field. Can switch on and off other columns, but no effect on MODE.
I'm using Ver. 2.3.0(101)
Did I miss any checkbox in preferences?
Thanks for your ideas.

I'm stilll trying to install CQRLOG 2.3.0-1 on my Raspberry Pi 3B ver. 1.2, as I reported in post https://www.cqrlog.com/node/2084. I'm using the
Raspberry Pi .deb package at https://www.cqrlog.com/download. I'm using Raspian 8.0 (jessie).
I am getting a program hang while using CQRLOG 2.3.0(001) 2018-06-17. The exception below prints in console. On the GUI I get a blank dialog box and nothing responds to mouse clicks and I have to kill -9 the program. Here are the steps. I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
Open CQRLOG
Press CTRL-O in new QSO window
Select Sort -> Date_time Ascending then close
Drag scrollbar to last record
Click downarrow at bottom of scrollbar once
Click downarrow on keyboard
This causes program to hang and blank dialog box to display
Hi There
This refers to a discussion I started in New OS/CQRLOG Install and now Mysql Problems but copied to new topic here
Problems installing CQRLog on Ubuntu 16.04
Apologies for the copy paste. I am new to linux and tried to install CQRlog but do not know what direction anymore.
CQRlog mysql.err. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

171126 13:10:25 [Note] InnoDB: innodb_empty_free_list_algorithm has been changed to legacy because of small buffer pool size. In order to use backoff, increase buffer pool at least up to 20MB.
By accident I entered 2 wrong QSOs with the same call back-to-back in cqrlog, which were automatically uploaded to clublog.
I deleted these QSOs in cqrlog.
Now, when a new QSO is being uploaded to clublog, it stops at one of the deleted QSOs. Here is the output of the log upload window:
