Greetings.
For background, this new thread extends the May 30 2026 thread "CQRLOG failure, due to database connection?" where Saku was so helpful.
I am running Ubuntu 26.04, WSJT-X 3.0.0-rc-1, CQRLOG 2.5.2 (001), and TQSL V2.8.6 build [pkg-v2.8.6]. Two problems repeatedly occur and may be related.
Problem 1. If I open the Software Updater desktop app in Ubuntu, it ALWAYS fails after several seconds with this error: "Failed to download repository information. Check you internet connection." Two comments: the internet connection is fine every time, and this error has occurred with the current Ubuntu and all previous versions I have used as well. Perhaps it is a repository containing cqrlog or hamlib, etc., that is failing. How can I clean up this repository problem?
Problem 2. I get a TMySQL57 Connection error when executing the following steps:
A. I open cqrlog from the desktop via the desktop app menu.
B. Cqrlog opens briefly to the Database Connection window with these settings: localhost, port 3306, user cqrlog, password *****, Remember Me checked, Autoconnect checked, and Open recent log after program start checked. The Database Connection window shows two logs: "Log001" and "2026." The 2026 log is highlighted. (Note: currently Log001 is empty and "2026" is an incomplete restoration from a previous backup .adi file. I new to generate a completely restored file from LOTW.)
C. The NEW QSO window opens.
D. I select FILE --> OPEN OR CREATE A NEW LOG.
E. The Database Connection opens. The "2026" log is highlighted.
F. I click the NEW LOG button.
G. Log #3 options appear, and in the log name window I type LOTWRebuild . (I also tried "LOTW" in case there were too any characters in the rebuild name.)
H. I click the OK button and this error appears:
"TMySQL57Connection : Error executing query: Unknown table 'view_cqrlog_main_by_qsodate' in information schema."
Help, please.
Thanks,
Joe, N0NOW
