RST sent/rcvd not set when using wsjtx remote

Hi,

i'm using cqrlog 2.1.0 and wsjt-x 1.80rc2 on my Ubuntu 16.04 system.
works all well.

I noticed that in the "remote mode for wsjt" the filed RST sent and receive are not set.
they stay on 599.

In the preferences under the point "fldigi/wsjt interface" you find a "RST from"-option for fldigi, but not for wsjtx. I tried to find out, what cause these behavior. I read the UDP protocol specification of wsjtx and found that the RST rapport is included.

It seems that CQRLOG didn't grab the RST rapport from the UDP WSJTX Messages.

Somebody know why its not transferred?

What have you chosen cqrlog

What have you chosen cqrlog preferences? Mode from wajt or cqrlog?
I have set it from wsjtx and it works fine. Ok, when you look logging
window, you see remote mode on and rprt is 599, but when you log
qso, everything goes fine into log, at least I have it ok.

RST / WSJT-X

Hi

There is no need for that kind of setting as wsjtx modes do not use conventional reports like 599 or 59.
So there is nothing to select as dBs send and received are the reports that are logged,

That is better way to report as dB readig comes from wsjtx program and has similar criterion for all users
where as "man made" reports are mode depending on operator's mind and not valid for comparison.

Reports from wsjt-x are transferred from UDP to log.

RST / WSJT-X

Just to clear usage a bit more:

It is not intended to save qso pressing "save qso" at cqrlog "New qso" window, NO!

You have to log qso pressing "log qso" at wsjt-x (this can be automated to pop up while sending 73 from wsjt-x settings)
check the information in wsjt-x's logging window, possible add power and remarks, and then press OK.

This generates UDP message #5 (qso logged) and values are taken from there to cqrlog.
You may see "Wsjt-x remote #5" flash at "New qso window" when pressing wsjt-x log window's OK button.
Actually reports show up at "New qso" while logging process but it happens so fast that you can not see it before values are cleared/preset again.

Callsign to "New QSO" (and CQ-monitor) are taken from #2 (decode) type of UDP messages while having qso/trying to answer cq,

I hope this clears things a bit more.

Hi,

Hi,
thank you very much for the clarifcation and the good hints.
I only see the 599 in the "new qso" screen und didn't realize that already the decibel was proper saved.
Now i'm using the "Log QSO" from wsjtx and all works fine.

i noticed that cqrlog only get's the name from qrz.com. Is there a way to assign QTH and GRID, too?

qrz.com

Nice to hear that logging is ok.

If you create login account to https://www.hamqth.com/ and change qrz.com to hamqth.com at cqrlog "preferences/callbook support" you will (usually) get more detailed information from there.
In wsjt-x qsos locator is taken from qso (it may be a pedition qth), but if locators first 4 characters are same as the locator that comes from Hamqth the 6 chars locator from Hamqth is used at logging phase.
