Re: FT-950 TRX Control Problem

I am far from an expert so I leave the debug output for what it is for now.
In File > Preferences > TRX Control make sure you have marked "Start rigctld when program starts"
Now in both Mint and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS you need to make yourself a member of the dialout group. This in order to gain acces to the serialport(s). How to do this is discussed in many of the threads in this forum so try looking for those posts.

After all this is done you still need to make sure which serialport you should enter in the box in TRX Control in CQRlog. In my case this is /dev/ttyS4 although I only have two serialports. Yours may well be 0,1,2 or any other figure.

Hope this was of any help.

Re: FT-950 TRX Control Problem

Looks a bit even that CQRlog does not start at all.

When you start CQRlog from a console , does CQRlog itself start ??
On wich distro did you try this ?
Ubuntu or Mint ?

FT-950 TRX Control Problem

Hi Arek:
Having exactly the same here too - using Mint Linux  AND  Ubuntu (Both latest versiona - AND Cqrlog)  -  I used cqrlog on older versions of Linux about 4 yrs ago !!  and  recall TRX control was NEVER this problematic - It seems there MAY be a problem with commands being sent to rigctl.
I added my username to the dialout group but it made NO difference on either M/c...
By the command issued in the console :- sudo adduser "username" dialout  .
Still no connection to my radio which btw is a Kenwood TS590S, I also have an IC7100 which will not connect either !!??
I  am thinking its some sort ot "Permissions" issue - but I will keep trying as I do know my usb -> serial port is  ok because it works beautifully under Fldigi with no issues...
Sorry this is not exactly helping you, but I thought it  prudent to share - will follow thread with interest.

Good luck - P  G4NKX

FT-950 TRX Control Problem

Start cqrlog from command line:
cqrlog --debug=1
And see what rigctld is saying.
