CQRlog wont import all my logbook

Hi all,
I'm new to CQRlog and running it on Ubuntu 20.0.4.2.

I've exported my logbook from Log4OM, on Win7, in both ADIF 2 & 3 formats but CQRlog wont import more than 960 entries of the 5500 entries in the ADIF.

I've opened the ADIF's in a text editor to check that all the records are there ( they are ) and I've checked to make sure the ADIF is UTF8.

I've double checked the band edges in frequencies and adjusted them to region 3, just-in-case that was affecting it but it still wont import all my records :(

Any help appreciated.

thanks
Tim

Hi Alex,

Hi Alex,
No, I dont get any errors. That had caused me to think I had only exported 960 entries, interestingly the whole 5000+ records imports into Klog with only a few errors that Klog fixes.
After doing that, I then exported the log from Klog and tried to import that into CQRlog but it still stops at 960!
cheers
Tim

CQRlog wont import all my logbook

HI!

I think we have had this kind of problem here once before. Or then it was in one personal mails I have got.

Situation was similar. Always stopping without complete import.
If you study imported log with cqrlog "QSO list" you may find out that last imported qso is always the same. Study both ends the top of QSO list and the very end of QSO list (using PG DN button enough many times to get bottom).

Then locate the last imported qso from your adif export file. Just open it to plain text editor and search the callsign. When found check also date and time in case you have many contacts with that call.
When you have found that qso record check the next qso record that was not imported to cqrlog.

In the case I solved before there was "garbage character" (showing out in text editor). It was in name_intl or qth_intl tag (I do not remember).

You can remove the whole qso record from text and save to new name, or you can remove just the tag including that character.
Then do new import with fixed adif file.

Cqrlog can not handle special characters that are not related to utf8 character set.

Re: CQRlog wont import all my logbook

Hi Tim,

open cqrlog from a terminal with this command:

cqrlog --debug=1 >> debug.log

try to import the ADIF file, close CQRLOG, and look at the end of the debug.log file. There should be more information. I suppose one of the fields is too long and that causes the crash.

Re: CQRlog wont import all my logbook

OK, I finally got around to running it from the CLI and I get this error...

Import failed! TMySQL57Connection : Error executing query: Data too long for column 'county' at row 1

Looking at the record it stopped at I cannot see any difference from the record above or below it!

Re: CQRlog wont import all my logbook

It seems the county is too long in one of the QSO. Could you send me the adif file, please? My email is petr@ok2cqr.com Thanks.
