CQRLOG 2.4.0 - "ClubLog: Upload failed! Check Internet connection"

Hi,

after the update from Kubuntu 19.10 to 20.04 the clublog upload does not work again. It seems to be the same problem as here: https://www.cqrlog.com/node/2346

In CQRLOG 2.4.0 this message appears.

ClubLog: Upload failed! Check Internet connection

Internet connection is available and working. "mariadb" was and is installed.

A compilation of the current source code does not change the behaviour.

Same on Lubuntu 20.04

Hello Wolfgang,

I've got the same problem since I upgraded my logging netbook to Lubuntu 20.04. Interestingly, if I sync the cqrlog directory to my Ubuntu 20.04 machine (including all settings and databases), the upload to Club Log works. So it seems to be a specific system issue. I also get these HTTP 500 responses on my Lubuntu machine. So, it is obviously not a problem with wrong passwords or so. Sadly, I don't know whether the debug log output could be increased.

Best regards,

Solution: libssl-dev

Hi again, Wolfgang,

I didn't think I'd find the solution so quickly: When I tried to download QSL from LoTW, I got an error, saying "Error: SSL/TLS support is not compiled!" Googling this message in the context of cqrlog gave me the hint to install the package libssl-dev, even if you wouldn't compile anything yourself. This fixed LoTW download and Club Log upload.

Hope that helps!

Best regards,
Stephan, OE3SPR

"ClubLog: Upload failed! Check Internet connection" - SOLVED

Hi Stephan,

thank you for your advice. After installing the "libssl-dev" the clublog upload works for me, too.

In the package "cqrlog_2.4.0-1_amd64.deb" the "libssl-dev" is also registered as dependency. However, there is no notification about a missing "libssl-dev".

The problem with the Telnet DX cluster still exists.

Thanks again

ClubLog: Upload failed! Check Internet connection" - SOLVED

I am a newbie to linux and I am not sure how to "install" the libssl-dev". When I try, it wants input like from and to.
I have the same problem. It was working fine but not now. My work around has been saving the adif file and then going to the ClubLog web page and uploading it. I would like to be able to automatically upload (like it previously did) but not sure how to do this "fix". Any help ? You can email me at kb3tc@gmx.com and I will get it quickly. Thanks.
