CQRLOG and WSJT-X FT8

I have CQRLOG working with WSJT-X and rigctld to control my Omni VI and log QSOs. But, I noticed 14.076 is the frequency used for the FT8 QSO on 20 meters. I expected to see 14.074 Why is the logged QSO record showing 14.076 for the frequency? I haven't checked other bands to see how far off they are.

What do the different colors in the WSJT-X cq monitor mean? That's a pretty neat window. Would be nicer if it showed LoTW users and eQSL users. Perhaps that's what the colors mean?

Hi Stan!

Do you have latest Beta version installed?
If so, just press Alt+H at NewQSO window to open Help index to your default browser.
Section "Operation" has "Digital modes: wsjt-x" choose it and I think it answers most of your questions.

If you do not have latest Beta installed you can do it easily. Read this message and it's links for informations:

Brief answers, more from help file:
14,074 is a DIAL frequency. True operating frequency is vfo dial frequency + audio frequency that produces FT8 whistle. You can see it directly from waterfall window's top scale. F(vfo)+F(audio)=F(log)
F(log) is your true transmitting frequency that is logged.
Logging will round this to nearest kHz, so you may have 14.074 14,075 or even 14,076 if you work very high on waterfall's scale.

Colors in cq-monitor (+ wsjt-x map, if you run beta) tell you what is the status of callsing compared to your previous loggings. Lot more important than LoTW or eQSL users. you can avoid "qso before" and yo know have you ever worked before (on other band/mode) station calling cq.
Same coloring for locator squares. Easy tool if you are collecting them.

Right click on cq-monitor or wsjt-x map allows you to change colors. In Beta version it also shows currently selected colors before you even open color change dialog.
This is explained in help, too.

At the moment the help section of this web site is not the latest version, so please check local help when cqrlog is running.

For lazy readers there is poor video in my google drive folder called "wsjtx_remote_features.mp4"

Hi Saku,

I installed the 20180421 beta. Not sure if that's the latest one.

I wondered if the frequency might be the VFO frequency plus the audio frequency.

Thanks for your help!
