Winkeyer_server Error

System is Ubuntu 16.04, CQRLOG and rigctld to my FT1000MP MKV seems to be working.

The issue I have is with the winkeyer_server interface.

The winkeyer_server is running, but when I attempt to open the keyer I receive the following error:

Winkeyer USB
port 6789
/dev/ttyUSB0
------------------------------------------
Keyer is NOT online
Error: (9) Bad file number

I found this error in an earlier post here and grabbed the bash shell script devcheck.sh output enclosed:

kenr@Niwot:~/Downloads$ ./devcheck.sh
/dev/ttyUSB0 - FTDI_FT232R_USB_UART_AI02BUYG
/dev/ttyUSB1 - Prolific_Technology_Inc._USB-Serial_Controller
/dev/sdd - Multi_Flash_Reader_058F63666471-0:0
/dev/input/event9 - Lite-On_Technology_Corp._USB_Keyboard
/dev/input/event10 - Lite-On_Technology_Corp._USB_Keyboard
/dev/input/event11 - 192f_USB_Optical_Mouse
/dev/input/mouse0 - 192f_USB_Optical_Mouse

Hints appreciated.

Re: Winkeyer_server Error

Hi Ken,

if you want to control winkeyer, you haven't to use WinKeyer server. CQRLOG has WinKeyer USB support build-in.

Maybe the port is used by another application. Open a console and enter sudo lsof /dev/ttyUSB0

Thanks Petr,

USB0 port is not in use until I start winkeyer_server.
USB1 is is used by rigctld.

lsof /dev/ttyUSB0
lsof: WARNING: can't stat() fuse.gvfsd-fuse file system /run/user/1000/gvfs
Output information may be incomplete.
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
winkeyer_ 4425 root 15u CHR 188,0 0t0 519 /dev/ttyUSB0

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

lsof /dev/ttyUSB1
lsof: WARNING: can't stat() fuse.gvfsd-fuse file system /run/user/1000/gvfs
Output information may be incomplete.
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
rigctld 2329 root 3u CHR 188,1 0t0 530 /dev/ttyUSB1

I removed a rule regarding an FTDI driver for USB and now Winkeyer starts-up and shows "Winkeyer is online, Firmware version: 30".

Not sure I understand about Winkeyer USB support built in.
I see that there is option for CW interface with type = Winkeyer USB, port=6789 and speed=24, does this interface replace Winkeyer_Server??

Petr,
Thanks, am using the internal Winkeyer now for my tests. Radio connects fine. Winkeyer does not.
Radio assigned USB1, Keyer assigned USB0.

lsof /dev/ttyUSB0
lsof: WARNING: can't stat() fuse.gvfsd-fuse file system /run/user/1000/gvfs
Output information may be incomplete.

lsof /dev/ttyUSB1
lsof: WARNING: can't stat() fuse.gvfsd-fuse file system /run/user/1000/gvfs
Output information may be incomplete.
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE/OFF NODE NAME
rigctld 2609 root 3u CHR 188,1 0t0 420 /dev/ttyUSB1

The following is displayed in console with debug=1:
CW init
Device: /dev/ttyUSB0
Last error nr: 9
Last error desc:Bad file number
Speed: 24

You might want to try G4KNO's

You might want to try G4KNO's jWinkeyServer.
It runs as a cwdaemon.
Works flawlessly for me.
