Cqrlog has I/O error on startup? Cqrlog and rig not talking now.

My unbuntu crashed and 12.10 was reloaded along with cqrlog 1.5.4.  Cqrlog is showing an I/O error on startup.  The settings are the same as before the crash.  My terminal output is below.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to a previous post

Thanks to a previous post from K8WDX, I found the problem with group/port permission and added by username to the dialout port or group in the /etc/group file.  After a reboot, it worked.
My first installation of Cqrlog 1.5.4 worked without this.  Anyway it worked.  What does dialup mean and did I do something wrong adding my username to it?

Adding yourself to the dial

Adding yourself to the dial out group, will allow you, as a user of Ubuntu to use the serial/USB port, I believe this is the case, by default or not adding yourself to the dialout group, the OS will not allow you to use the port. Tom K8WDX
Hope I am right on that one, I am no expert.....
