Tag <session id> not found & Rig control

Petr,
Installed CQRLog under 64 bit Mint 17. Got the "Access Problem" solved but now I have two more problems.
1. When entering new QSO, I get error "tag <session id> not found" on callbook lookup to HamQTH. No problem with Ubuntu 12.04.
2. TRX control - Unable to connect to ts-570-D. Set all parameters as  I had on the old PC. If I dmesg | grep USB I see that the adapter is on /dev/ttyUSB0. It shows usb: 2-2 pl2303 converter now atached to ttyUSB0. Setup the radio (Kenwood ts-570, #204) to the same serial data parameters. Started Hamlib but still not able to connect to radio. I do not see the radio when I do dmesg command.
Was working with the same setup under Ubuntu 12.04.
What can I do to fix these?

More problems Now with my log import

Imported my latest backup from CQRLog V 1.7.4. QSO's range from 2009 to 2015 in the backup. When I import the data I get ony 610 records. The data between 2009 and 2012-12-09 is lost.
Have reinstalled and impoted three times. Problem persists. This PC has both MySQL and the forced installation of MariaDB (installed by default along with CQRLog. Got to get this fixed.

More Problems

Same on my Ubutu 14.04 system. TRX Control does not work. ADI Import truncates log. Something basic is wrong here. Maybe V1.8.3 does not like Ubuntu 14.04. What do I do now? Rebuild the PC's with 12.04? Everything worked in that environment.

CQRLog does not work on Ubuntu 14.04 or Mint 17.1

Have spent two full days on this. Not getting anywhere fast. Had a working system on another PC. Everything worked as it should. Ran out of disk space so I built a larger PC using Mint 17.1.
Lost ability to connect to my ts-570. Callsign lookup does not work. Error "tag <'session_id'> not found.
Found out that you can scroll through a limited number of QSO's in QSO list. Who would have guessed that,
Re-built the PC with Ubuntu 14.04-2. Installed CQRLog from the ppa. Still no connection to radio. Still have error in call lookup. Cannot edit a QSO. Screen freezes. Have to cancel program. No edit made.
Great program. Want to continue using it but, all the problems I'm having do not make me warm and fuzzy. If it worked before it should work now. Do not understand why it does not and am running out of time to play with it.

CQRLog does not work on Ubuntu 14.04 or Mint 17.1

Completly removed MySQL, MySQL Workbench and CQRLOG including the config files.
Reinstalled ony CQRLog. Started from scratch as a new user. Created new log with one QSO. Look up still errors out "Tag '<session-id> not found". Program freezes on edit from qso list. Screen grays out and I have to force exit. Do not understand why. It worked so well on the other PC.
Frustrated. What should I do now?

Mint 17.1

Hi Marty
I use Mint 17.1-64 witth kernel 3.16.7 + CQRLOG 1.8.3 + TS590s. Everything works.
Can try to establish other kernel?

First must register, if you did, check the password ;)

Tag "<session-id>" not found error.

Thank you CX1FK. That was the problem. I was using the wrong password. Got a new one and the lookup now works. However I'm back on Ubuntu 12.04 and version 1.7.4. This one works to both edit and delete QSO's without freezing. Radio still does not connect. Maybe it is something with the new PC hardware/port. I'm thinking of going back to mint as suggested by Yuri. I do not know how to pick a specifi kernel. Would you tell me how that is done?

CQRLog problems

Yrui,
I know this works because I had it up and going on an older PC running Ubuntu 12.04. Everthing worked. However I ran out of space on the HD so I went to mint 17.1. Really like that environment.
I use a USB/serial converter. When I dmesg | Grep USB I see the cable on ttyUSB0 but I do not see the 570 as I did on the other PC. Unfortunatly I cannot boot the old PC because, after using the monitor on Mint 17, it cannot display the video mode and will not boot. Do not know how to fix this. Therefore I cannot check the settings.
I have TRX setup for the 570:
/usr/bin/rigctld
Rig Id 204      /dev/ttyUSB0
Port 4532      57600  8 1 N
Polling 500  Hardware handshake DTR on RTS Default.
TRX to start with program
I'm thinking of trying Mint again. Hopefully the edit/delete freezes will go away. (right now on Ubuntu 12.04 and 1.7.4 those problems are gone) If I load Mint how can I choose the kernel that is installed? Should I install 32 bit or 64? The PC is an HP about 7+ years old. I have a recent iso for both. I really would like to get this going again.
Thanks for your help.

CQRLog problems

Hi Marty,
Set  Radio serial parameters "DEFAULT", except serial speed. It is important!
Info about Linux Kernel:   uname -r     (in terminal)
Hardware info:  sudo inxi -U
                         inxi -Fxz
What environment at your Mint? Mate? Cinnamon? 64 bits the version are supported better.
If the weak video adapter, Mate is preferable to use.

CQRLog problems

Yuri,
I'm using an HP Pavilion PC with a 3.2 G. single core processor. 1 G. memory. The OS is Mint 17.1 64 bit Mate. The kernel is 3.13.0-37 generic x86 64. I've rebuilt everything again.
I upgraded the kernel to 3.16.37. Still could not connect. Added user to dialout group. Some say this is needed to access the port using Hamlib. No change. Dropped back to 3.13.0-37 kernel. Everything works but not TRX control. Tried setting speed to 57600 and leaving the others at defalut. Radio set to the same. Still not able to connect.
Dmesg | grep USB shows the pl2303 adapter on ttyUSB0. I used to see the radio when I executed that command but now I do not see it. Try dmesg | grep USB on your system and tell me if you see the radio in the list.
I cannot boot the PC I had before. It gets to the point where the display shows "Cannot display this mode" and shuts down. If I use the live DVD it boots as it should. I cannot even get into Grub when it boots from the HD. Without getting the old system to boot I cannot check the settings that worked before. One thing it was V 1.7.4 CQRLog.
Could it be the radio? How can I test it? Hard to believe going to another PC caused it to fail. I need to add a couple more apps and then I can get back to work on other projects. I really do not want to rebuild again. I did try 32 bit same behaviour.

For 1G memory 32 bits are more preferable. "Cannot display this mode" - problem with video adapter:

User in dialout group - has to be in this group. My HamLib packageы: libhalib-dev, libhamlib2, libhamlib-utils,
libhamlib++-dev,  libhamlib2++c2.

I think that at first it is necessary to deal with video and to install system. CQRLOG is the following stage.

Re: CQRLog problems

Yuri,
Thanks for your response. First let me clear up some confusion. The PC with the video problem is the one I am replacing due to lack of HD space (16 G). It's running Ubuntu 12.04. Everything was okay till I took it out of service and used the monitor  on the new 64 bit Mint 17.1 64 bit. When I had problems with CQRLog connecting to the 570 I wanted to check the settings on the old PC. That's when I found it would not boot because of the video problem. I cannot get into anything on it. The live DVD will run with no video problems. Right now I do not want to rebuild that PC. It worked with the 570. Can I reset the video mode on the HD from the live DVD?

The new PC is running Mint 17.1 64 Bit. I'm about 90% finished installing what I need. Should I go back to 32 bit or stay with 64 as it appears to be running OK? CQRLog works as it should but, does not connect to the TS-570.

That's the same dmesg result that I see except for a different adapter. On the old PC I did see the radio. Maybe related to Ubuntu 12.04.

Checked the libhamlib... files with Synaptic. Only libhamlib-2 and libhamlib-utils are installed. Should I add the others? I guess it would not hurt.

I needed these libraries for connection to radio.

CQRLog Problems

Yuri.

Looks like the additional libraries did the trick. CQRLog now connects to the rig. The frequency changes as I tune. I guess the install script, for CQRLog, does not load all the needed libraries. As an added benefit my Ham Radio Deluxe 5.24, running under Wine, now also works.

Many thanks for your help and patience. You pointed me in the right direction. Maybe Petr could add this to the installation notes.
